The long awaited and highly touted 2005 vintage of the esteemed Domaine Romanee Conti has arrived. As many of you know this Domaine is among the most highly regarded if not the most fmous of all producers in Burgundy. Under the direction of Auber de Villaine Romanee Conti is the Burgundy by which all others are measured. Since the 80's much of thier production is organic and some properties now incorporate biodynamic viticulture.
2005 was a vintage for the ages. You almost couldn't make a bad red. Hyperbole can be a dangerous thing but most of the wines I've tasted have lived up to the hype. The Burgundies are rich lucious and age worthy while maintaining their essential characters. Bordeaux, especially the Grand Cru are deeply concentrated and for the most part beautifully age worthy.
Domaine Romanee Conti is no exception. With their exceptional real estate they have crafted some exquisite complex wines for 2005. We are happy to have some of the best. Of course the quantities are tiny so they will not appear on our website. Here's what we have:

They are not cheap but you are joining a very select few in enjoying what could be the best Burgundies of the vintage. As mentioned we have very small quantities, some by the bottle some by the case so please call if interested.
Other notable 2005 Burgundies we have in stock are from Domaine Francois Lamarche, his monopole La Grand Rue, A F Gros Richebourg, Dujac Fils and Pere Chambertin Grand Cru and Bouchard L'Enfant Jesus. A great vintage and these are some of the best of the vintage. Happy Drinking! |
