Q. What's your shipping policy?
A. We can deliver, depending on the location. For shipping information please call the store at 212-534-6709.
Q. How long will it take to receive my order if I place it online?
A. Although we take care to assure the accuracy of the prices and availability of items reflected on our website, we occasionally make mistakes. We will not charge your credit card until your order has been confirmed and shipped. If you have any questions, please give us a call.

Please allow a 24-hour turnaround time on all orders. Most of the wines in our catalog are in stock and in plentiful supply. For limited wines, please call us at (212) 534-6709 for current inventory status. In some cases, same-day deliveries will be possible, but in general 24-hour turnaround should be expected. Of course during holiday periods more lead time may be needed due to heavy call volume.
Q. Does this new Supreme Court Decision mean I can get any bottle sent to me?
A. We wish that were the case! However, there is still a great deal of state government oversight with regards to wine shipping. (To find out more, click www.freethegrapes.com)

The U.S. Supreme Court ruled on May 16th that states must treat out of state wineries equal to how they treat in-state wineries, specifically with reference to rules for wineries to ship wine to consumers. In fact, state laws will continue to vary from state to state, and the ruling was specific to Michigan and New York. Luckily, many retailers have licensed brokers that can legally ship bottles to consumers in many states. To find a retailer that can ship to you, click the “Ship To State” icon during the search process and choose the state where the bottles need to be shipped.
Q. Do all your wines appear on the website?
A. A good question. In a word: no. We are constantly getting our hands on great small lots of unusual wines that are often in and out of the store before they even make it to the website. Give us a call as often as you like to inquire about what's new.
Q. Have you tasted every wine in the store?
A. While we generally try to taste every wine on the shelves it is not possible. Sometimes the wines are too rare or the quantities too small to open a bottle to taste. We do taste 98% of the wines on our shelves and we're able to give you detailed information about all of them.
Q. Can I special order a wine?
A. We can and do special order wines. When you call try to have all the details of the label in front of you or bring the bottle in to us. Call us for availability of your favorite.
Q. What, now you do have Veuve Cliquot!?
A. It's not exctly true that we never carried Veuve Cliquot but we do carry some amazing chapagnes from small producers and grower Champagnes as well. We like to encourage people to explore the many styles of Champagne so while we might not show it on the shelves, we might be able to find a bottle or two for you.
Q. What kind of personal advice can you provide?
A. What makes our store different is our intimate service and advice. We are owner operators and it is our desire to give you as much information as you need. We are focused on getting you the best wine for what you need. We don't "push" certain wines. We'll explain why we are giving you a certain wine and how it will work ith your meal.
Q. You have a beautiful store on Madison Ave you must be expensive.
A. You might be inclined to think that we are a pricey store because of the beautiful design and high level of one on one service. You would be wrong. We are actually more than competitive on our wines. We pay careful attention and buy on the best deals possible. There is no reason to sacrifice price for service because we can and do offer both.
